'Radio Random' , exhibited at 'Cageworks', a John Cage inspired exhibition held at Canberra Contemporary in 2022. Each radio was operated by a button, arranged as a keyboard. There was a performance. A score, determined by an algorithm, was projected on the wall indicating to the radio operators when and which radio to turn on. The performance was held on the day Queen Elizabeth II died which influenced the radio signals.

This clip is from the video ‘Inside a radio’, which recounts thoughts and images originating from a radio installation made at Canberra Community Art Space over six weeks in 2017. Consisting of grabs of radio broadcast and other forms of word and sound translations, it reflects on the misreadings and confusions inherent in signal translation. You are always an antenna.
