(This is part of a longer animation). I made a costume with long arms and legs that allows body movement to be captured on camera as gestural traces. I’ve been referring to it as a ‘drawing costume’ but it would been more accurate to call it a ‘writing costume’. I want writing to be spontaneous and to include the whole of my body, not just the hand. The written word was invented for lists and inventories.
