This book was sent to me to be alterated for an exhibition at Blarney Books in South Australia.
It was titled ''The Colourful British Isles and was printed in 1962 in the garish printing of the day. My alterations, photocopies and a scalpel, left just a bit of the colour in each image. In one of my better naming moments I retitled the book 'Uncolouring the British Isles'.
Random information: I think I recognised images from this book in the animation of The Beatle's Yellow Submarine.
The top image is a solander box with lines that fold out – made around 2007 from etchings. Second image: book title 'Namadgi' collage and solvent transfers. Third image: 'Body language', a series of work that went on for ages and included etchings, books costumes, performance, videos. Fourth image: 'Conversations', also a series of work that took in many media types.
